Difference
between Bluetooth and ZigBee |
 |
ZigBee has different object from Bluetooth as stated
above.
Bluetooth can connect maximum 7 devices per node, but Zigbee can
accommodate maximum 255 devices per node and 65,000 nodes can be
extended to be connected.
Bluetooth supports 100m or 10m transmission distance, max 723Kbps(generally
1Mbps) data rate according to class 1 or Class2. But transmission
distance of Zigbee is 30m inside, 100m outside and supports maximum
250Kbps data rate.
The biggest feature is low power consumption. Since ZigBee chip
requires about 20mA power consumption, even considering UWB known
as low power consumption technology needs 200mW and Bluetooth requires
100mW, we can know it is really low power consumption technology.
ZigBee use DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) method for low
power consumption and its protocol stack size is less than 32kbyte.
Considering these features, ZigBee is the very small and light technology
with long lasting battery and can be connected to many devices.
